Dracaena trifasciata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo. It is most commonly known as the snake plant, Saint George’s sword, mother-in-law’s tongue, and viper’s bowstring hemp, among other names.

Sunlight

  • Keep the plant indoors with bright indirect natural light or bright artificial light.
  • Protect the plant from direct harsh sunlight as it can cause damage to the foliage.

Plant Protection

  • Remove dead, infected, or damaged plant parts and dispose of them away from the planting area.
  • Spray Neem, Eucalyptus, or Citrus oil for any insect/pest attack, as a primary treatment.

Don’t

  • Easily grows in AC rooms but away from AC vents.
  • Do not over-water the plant especially when the pot does not have drainage holes.

Initial care for 1-2 weeks after receiving plant at your location:

  • Keep the plant in natural indirect bright Light.
  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Water when topsoil (1-2 inches) feels dry to the touch.
  • Do not re-pot for min. 2 weeks after receiving it.
